Reflective Post #2

So far in this class I have learned more in depth about the application of change leadership in organizational restructuring as well as Kotter's and Lewin's models to an organizational change situation. By better understanding these two models I am able to apply them to my work on the daily, whether there is a quick fix that needs a few steps or a larger more involved issue that needs a more step by step approach. By completing the weekly discussion posts along with replying to others in the class, it bring a new perspective to myself as well. I have understood and learned each week but am able to understand how my classmates might see it. This has happened a few time within the discussion reply posts and I have found it very interesting and helpful to see a different take on the same material!

While reflecting on how change management strategies can help non-profits better serve their beneficiaries, manage volunteers or handle funding challenges this by working on aligning operations with the needs of the organization and how they change. Along with putting an emphasis on clear communication for new initiatives and handling challenges that are faced with transparency. A few big indicators that I have learned just within these few weeks is how important communication, transparency and trust are within organizations but also leaders. I am excited to see what other big takeaways I will have for the second half of this course along with what else I can bring back to my day to day at work.
